Dear Worldbuilder!

Hello my friend! I'm tossing my hat into the ring for this quite late, so forgive me if this letter is a little bit scattered. :) I'm so glad to be matched with you, and thank you so much for agreeing to write one of the nonsense things I've requested!

I am and will be equally delighted with a story, an art, or a meta! Fiddling around with worldbuilding is one of my relaxation hobbies, and anything that reveals or highlights some unique aspect of the world in question would more than make my day. Whatever your forte is in the creative realm, I'm SUPER OKAY with you being ultra creative. Medium, tense, formats, viewpoints, media-hopping, plot or no plot, characters or no characters. Also, please don't feel like you have to only write to one 'prompt' or WB feature if you want to combine or what-have-you.

General things I enjoy as could pertain to this exchange:

• Complicated, messily organic worlbuilding elements that cause as many problems as they solve and aren't simply one note ideas. (I can't find the relevant quote, but it's something like if you're adding in the fantastic then remember--even baby dragons that sit on your shoulder shit down your back.) How is COOL THING handled realistically and what problems might it cause?
  
• Odd or unexpected character connections!
  
• Small moments of reunion or discovery that illustrates some facet heretofore unexplored.
  
• Outsider PoVs! (Or canon characters taking an 'outsider' perspective on other canon characters.)
  
• I love OCs to small bits. Don't feel like you need to do just with canon characters, unless that's where your inspiration takes you. Building an OC to 'match' the world, imho, gives an insight into what the builder finds important/relevant/etc, and that unique individuality is utterly fascinating to me.
  
• Basically, I really love worldbuilding/meta elements that are unique to the person writing them that tie in experience with a whole different 'reality.'
  

General 'Please Avoid' for the purpose of this exchange:

• Character death (...I'm very picky about it and it's a recent emotional landmine for me)
  
• Focus on children ala kid-fic and the joys of giving birth and raising them
  
• Porn. (Though I'm open to adult content in a meta context. The BJT world especially lends itself to BDSM themes.)
  
• If you're writing fic, my squicks are noncon, humiliation, and embarrassment.
  

Black Jewels - Anne Bishop

For the Black Jewels, I'm deeply interested in all the vast territory that the books never covered. This especially pertains to same-gender relationships set within a rigid gender system. If you choose to write/art within this fandom, I'd love it if you'd wiggle your way right up to the very boundaries of the already-established worldbuilding and really explore where it breaks down. If you're inclined towards OCs, I'm deeply fond of them in this fandom, especially since the worldbuilding elements I've requested are very lightly represented in the books.

Leverage

For Leverage, I mostly am requesting something playful, in the vein of the pulp feel of the show itself. The prompts suggest to me any number of awkward situations or places where the crew's stories don't quite line up. This is one where either canon characters or an oc would be equally delightful, as the outsider PoV is always fun when the crew keep trying to sustain their different stories.

Stargate Atlantis

WB: The Wraithgene and how other cultures conceive it and use it

For Stargate Atlantis, I love that it's set in a fascinating galaxy full of semi- to moderately-advanced cultures. There's so many of them and the gate system was never locked away from them, so there's enough interplay and travel that...it's just. Fascinating.

Also in the vein of several of these, we never find out much about the Travelers (!), or much about some of the civilizations that grew incredibly advanced and then were zapped back to subsistence level by the wraith like the Satedans. I didn't specifically request info about Sateda,but it does fit under these other headings. Even if the mentioned-in-canon civilizations don't spark your imagination, I'm also deeply interested in any other sorts that would function under the restrictions imposed by the looming threat of the wraith.

Hello! Yes! This is sort of a, ah, catch-all, tbh. And I almost don't expect a story for any of those, just...headcanon, meta, braindump, tell me about this place and how it's fascinating. You can certainly do a little fic if you want, but as this is all original and exploratory, I'd also be perfectly content with a 'fuck yeah' tumblr-style explanatory type of thing that simply describes and fiddles with elements and how they'd function within a broader society.

This is an excellent, excellent art candidate, where if you can depict a scene(!) or even something as simple as a character breakdown with little notes as to what and why and how the character is depicted, what they're wearing, and the worldbuilding choices therein. (And, tbh, if I did get art for this one I will be tempted to reverse-fic it, not gonna lie.)
